Dr. Gary Vanderlinden directs the Human Resources Department, and oversees all human resources management functions within Geminus Corporation, Regional Mental Health Center and its affiliates. He has over 30 years of experience in managing Human Resources functions of Chicago-area organizations with responsibilities ranging from recruitment, selection and on-boarding, to compensation, benefits, employee relations, legal compliance, training, employee development, safety, and labor relations.
Dr. Vanderlinden holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His areas of research interest include leadership and the effects of demographic diversity on workgroups. He also holds an MBA, and a BA in Industrial and Organizational Psychology both also from UIC, and a Master’s Degree in Industrial Relations/Human Resources from Loyola University Chicago. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. Kristina Houston is our newest member of the Human Resources team. She provides HR services to the managers and employees at Geminus Corporation. In addition, she holds a senior role in leading the HR Business Partner team. She has over 13 years of HR experience with a work history in Higher Education, Logistics, Insurance, and Manufacturing industries. In addition, she has also worked in the field of administration in the healthcare industry.
Kristina has experience in roles such as HR Manager, HR Officer, and HR Generalist. She has worked in Training and Development, Employee Relations, Investigations, Recruitment and Retention, Benefits and Compensation, Career-Pathing, Payroll, Policies and Procedures, HRIS, Onboarding & Off-boarding and other HR areas. Kristina holds a B.A Degree with a concentration of Business from Chicago State University in Chicago and an A.A. Degree in Liberal Arts from Lincoln College in Bloomington/Normal Illinois. Kristina has been certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) since 2011.
Lynette Barnwell joined Geminus Corporation as a Human Resources Business Partner in July of 2013. She is the associate that collaborates with management concerning “people” issues at Regional Mental Health Center’s Stark Center in East Chicago, Lake Park RBA, Regional Health Clinic in Hammond, and two of the Center’s residential group homes.
Lynette is originally from Chicago where she completed her undergraduate studies at Robert Morris College, and later graduated from Keller Graduate School earning a Master of Science in Human Resources.
She has served in the role of Professional Development Facilitator for Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin prior to coming to Geminus and took great pride in training and evaluating individuals and employees in various professional subject matters. She has also gained years of experience in recruiting and retention, marketing, and training within various industries such as: education, real estate, advertising, and social services. She is honored to be a part of the Geminus, Regional, and RBA team.
Gwen Wilkerson is the Human Resources Business Partner for Strawhun Center, Pathway, Residence, Stepping Stone (Group Homes), Clubhouse, Water Tower East/West, Hobart and Bell Tower Apartments. Her responsibility is liaison to employees in a variety of areas including employee relations, recruitment, on-boarding, credentialing, training and development.
She was previously employed with Regional Mental Health Center part-time for 4 years and joined Geminus Corporation in July of 2013. Prior to coming to Regional/Geminus, Gwen was employed with a school corporation as a Property Control Specialist responsible for over 175,000 district assets. Gwen also served in the school corporation’s Human Resources Department in Professional Development, and was responsible for the training and development of all employees.
She received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master’s degree from Indiana State University.
Gwen has also been a specialty boutique business owner and is a State of Indiana licensed teacher.
Pam began employment with then Tri-City Mental Health Center, on December of 1976 as an Administrative Assistant. Pam was one of the original 42 employees of Geminus Corporation when it was formed in 1992. For most of her long and dedicated tenure within our organization, Pam has served as Benefits Coordinator. She continues to be responsible for all aspects of Geminus/Regional benefits administration. Pam, also, administers the organization’s leave of absence policies, including those pertaining to FMLA and ADAAA accommodations. Additionally, she coordinates all Geminus/Regional workers compensation claims.
Pam strongly believes that all staff members should fully understand their benefits and, therefore, she strives to provide them with detailed and pertinent information concerning the plans, and is always eager to provide expert advice.
Dee-Dee Shoemaker has worked in our organization’s Human Resources Department since 1981, beginning her career at the Tri-City Mental Health Center. Over the years she has been responsible for a vast array of Human Resources Management activities involving HR data entry. Today, Dee Dee continues to provide stellar administrative support for the HR Department.
Dee-Dee’s philosophy for working in Human Resources is inspired by a favorite quote of hers by Maya Angelou, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
