Dr. Gary Vanderlinden directs the Human Resources Department, and oversees all human resources management functions within Regional Health Systems and its affiliates. He has over 30 years of experience in managing Human Resources functions of Chicago-area organizations with responsibilities ranging from recruitment, selection and on-boarding, to compensation, benefits, employee relations, legal compliance, training, employee development, safety, and labor relations.
Dr. Vanderlinden holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His areas of research interest include leadership and the effects of demographic diversity on workgroups. He also holds an MBA, and a BA in Industrial and Organizational Psychology both also from UIC, and a Master’s Degree in Industrial Relations/Human Resources from Loyola University Chicago. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. Diana Martinez joined our Human Resources team in May 2011. Diana manages all facets of the day-to-day Human Resources operations for managers and employees for Geminus & Regional Health Systems. In addition, she holds a senior level role in leading the HR Business Partner team. Diana has over 20 years of HR experience with a work history in Healthcare. Diana holds a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources Management (MBA, HRM) and a Bachelor in Accounting degree (BSA) from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is also a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Society of Human Resources Management of Northwest Indiana (SHRM-NWI).
Chriselle Asuma-Irion is one of the newer members of the HR Team joining Geminus in May 2017. She provides HR services and support to Geminus Head Start where she facilitates with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training and development.
Chriselle has previous experience in agency staffing and recruiting for various industries, mainly Technology and Professional Services. She has also specialized in high volume and technical recruiting in multiple markets. Chriselle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Arizona State University and is continuing her education in Human Resources.
Lynette Barnwell joined Geminus Corporation as a Human Resources Business Partner in July of 2013. She is the associate that collaborates with management concerning “people” issues at Regional Mental Health Center’s Stark Center in East Chicago, Lake Park RBA, Regional Health Clinic in Hammond, and two of the Center’s residential group homes.
Lynette is originally from Chicago where she completed her undergraduate studies at Robert Morris College, and later graduated from Keller Graduate School earning a Master of Science in Human Resources.
She has served in the role of Professional Development Facilitator for Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin prior to coming to Geminus and took great pride in training and evaluating individuals and employees in various professional subject matters. She has also gained years of experience in recruiting and retention, marketing, and training within various industries such as: education, real estate, advertising, and social services. She is honored to be a part of the Geminus, Regional, and RBA team.
Sondra started at Geminus as a part-time employee in Human Resources, and was promoted to Benefits Coordinator in 2019.
Dee-Dee Shoemaker has worked in our organization’s Human Resources since 1981, beginning her career at the Tri-City Mental Health Center. Over the years she has been responsible for a vast array of Human Resources Management activities involving HR data entry. Today, Dee Dee continues to provide stellar administrative support for the HR Department.
Dee-Dee’s philosophy for working in Human Resources is inspired by a favorite quote of hers by Maya Angelou, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
Brooklyn started at Geminus as a temporary Human Resources Assistant in October 2018 to February 2019. In June 2019, she rejoined the Human Resources teams as a permanent assistant, and she provides administrative support to the entire Human Resources Department. Prior to working at Geminus, Brooklyn was pursing her education at Purdue University where she obtained three years of customer service experience. In the three years, she screened resumes, interviewed potential candidates, trained residence hall staff members, lead team meetings, coordinated conferences, etc.Brooklyn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Writing, and a Master’s degree in Rhetoric & Composition from Purdue University.
