Stepson With Personality DisorderMon, Jan 31st 2005My youngest stepson will be 9 years old next month. My husband and I have been married for 5 years and he has had custody for 6 six years. The separated when the youngest was a year old. The birth mother is very unstable and exhibits many signs of several personality disorders. She has never been a positive influence in my stepson's lives and she has not seen or spoken to them in over two years. He is starting to show signs of a personality disorder. Is that possible at his age? Are there resources I can research to find out more. I would like to identify this as a problem early on and help him adapt if possible. I am so worried about him.
