Community Behavioral Health Network (CBHN) What is CBHN?
Current behavioral health providers sub-contracted by the Geminus Community Behavioral Health Network (CBHN) are Regional Mental Health Center (RMHC) which two years ago represented two separate Lake County Community Mental Health Centers and The Villages of Indiana, Inc.
RMHC is a community mental health center with 34 facilities located in Lake County Indiana servicing NW Indiana and some statewide programs. The Villages of Indiana, Inc is a child serving agency with 20 offices located strategically throughout Indiana providing community-based services helping families help children.
Four Northern IN CMHCs who were CBHN providers up until 18 months ago opted, due to changes in state contracting requirements, to discontinue their CBHN network affiliation. Behavioral Healthcare Management, Inc. (BHMI), a state-wide behavioral health network created by its 24 Indiana CMHC Corporate Members to build partnership relationships with Medicaid Managed Care Entities and other alternative payers such as the Department of Child Services also offered new options to those former CBHN Members
Accreditation: As a Managed Care (network) Provider (MCP) with DMHA, CBHN is required to maintain its CARF behavioral health provider network accreditation. BHMI because of its different mission and because it does not manage any contracted clinical services has no need for network accreditation.
RMHC is accredited by the Joint Commission (JC) and The Villages by the Council on Accreditation (COA). This maintains the CBHN commitment to subcontract only with DMHA-approved accreditation organizations. CBHN Members/clients must meet eligibility criteria set by CBHN’s DMHA contract. Each individual Member must be enrolled into the data system provided by DMHA along with completion of the age and disability appropriate clinical assessment tool provided by DMHA. Of the four disability groups funded by DMHA Villages only serves the SED population and RMHC serves all four populations.
1. chronically addicted persons of all ages (CA), 2. children who are seriously emotionally disturbed (SED), 3. adults who are seriously mentally ill (SMI), 4. individuals with gambling addictions (GAM)
Some enrolled Members may have more than one of these disabilities.
Mission Statement The mission of Geminus Corporation that manages the CBHN network is to deliver a comprehensive, state-of-the-art, cost-effective array of administrative support services for owner and partner community mental health centers as well as other complementary community human services.
Vision To promote the best of not-for-profit community-based human services by providing the economy of scale necessary to achieve administrative support efficiencies and improvements in service quality.
